Personal Philosophy

Dr. Lalezarzadeh abides by a philosophy of care that focuses on whole person wellness. He believes that it is the General Surgeons’ duty to offer surgical excellence and individualized attention to their patients throughout all stages of surgery. He stands by the belief that minimizing pain, blood loss, and scarring optimize patient outcomes. Because of this, all surgical procedures provided by Surgical Edge are performed by Dr. Lalezarzadeh, with assistance by his qualified team members. Under his care, patients will receive the highest caliber of surgical knowledge, built on a comprehensive education and expansive professional background.

He believes that “learning never stops,” and that through the learning process, he better equips himself to serve his patients needs. For instance, Dr. Lalezarzadeh sought out ways to reduce blood loss during Colorectal Surgeries to speed up recovery times for colon cancer patients. His research led him to a newly developed laparoscopic TAMIS (transanal minimally invasive surgery) procedure, which is a surgery offered at Surgical Edge. For Dr. Lalezarzadeh, mastering new and advanced techniques is not about the money or fame, it is to provide excellent care for his patients.

The importance of an evolving education does not end with his own professional benchmarks. As an Associate Clinical Professor at Western University of Health Sciences, he is dedicated to guiding his students’ own educational growth. While the term “providing excellence in medical education” is often used, he believes that this commitment to excellence is necessary to train the next generation of surgeons. Previously, he held a Clinical Instructor positions at Loma Linda University and was a Pediatric Surgery Department Part Time Associate at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
